The People

I was born in St. John’s and with the exception of private school in Ontario (Ridley) and a period in a geodesic dome (St Philips) have lived in the city for five decades before moving to Pouch Cove twenty years ago.

I have had (amongst other things) a chain of convenience stores and gas bars, (Capt Quik), a book store (Wordplay), a newspaper (Current), and have run in federal politics (Liberals), done tv and radio commentary (CBC). I am always more interested in what is next, rather than what has transpired in the past.

I have been told that I have things ass backward. That I was supposed to have money prior to being a philanthropist. But using smoke and mirrors, begging, borrowing, trading and bartering I have, with the help of friends, created the residency program which can bring me much pleasure, as I hope it does others.

With a background in communication and design, Vero remains a perpetual student of art.

Born in Mendoza province of Argentina and having travelled extensively, she was based in Buenos Aires when they met in January 2023. They have been together ever since and divide their time between Canada and Argentina.
