James Baird
I have had (amongst other things) a chain of convenience stores and gas bars, (Capt Quik), a book store (Wordplay), a newspaper (Current), and have run in federal politics (Liberals), done tv and radio commentary (CBC). I am always more interested in what is next, rather than what has transpired in the past.
I have been told that I have things ass backward. That I was supposed to have money prior to being a philanthropist. But using smoke and mirrors, begging, borrowing, trading and bartering I have, with the help of friends, created the residency program which can bring me much pleasure, as I hope it does others.
Vero Briend
One of the previous artist residents had a friend to whom Vero was introduced to James Baird in January 2022. Born in Mendoza province of Argentina and having travelled extensively Vero was based in Buenos Aires when they met. They have been together ever since and divide their time between Canada and Argentina.
Shane Bruce
Shane Bruce of no fixed address since 1969.
Spent most of my working career and self-employed operations in Atlantic Canada but retired from active duty in the ACME Group of Companies in 2017.
I became an art lover by demand (demanded by James Baird) and finally have a fixed address in Pouch Cove so whoever said “no good deed goes unpunished” was wrong, but I’ve always been the exception to the rule.
